I installed the driving lights the other day. I rigged them up to my engine guard with 4" brackets so that they stuck out a few inches beyond my feet. I liked them, they were bright, cars seemed to notice me more, and I was mighty pleased with my handiwork. Until....they killed my battery today when I was 100 miles from home up in the mountains!
I'm thinking that the generator/regulator/alternator/rectifyer, whatever it's called did its' best for a few days, but must have been struggling to keep up with the power demand. Everything worked out OK, got a jump from some bikers, and disconected the lights. I think I'm just gonna put big reflectors in their place. (Am I a nerd or what!)
I was trying to push start the bike, but to no avail. I've read earlier posts, but I'm still not clear on the procedure. This is how it goes as far as I understand:
1. Pull in clutch and Roll backward for several feet.
(should the clutch be in, or should I roll it back with the clutch disengaged...if so how?
2. Ignition on, put it in second gear
3. Push the bike fast, jump on and dump the clutch.
(should the choke be on? Should the petcock be set to Prime or run? Should I pull in the clutch immediatly after I dump it?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
